First, visit the official Ledger website and navigate to the Ledger® Live download page. Choose the version compatible with your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and download the installation file. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the application on your desktop.
Before you can use Ledger® Live, you need a Ledger hardware wallet (Ledger Nano S, Ledger Nano X, or Ledger Stax). If you haven’t set up your device yet, follow the instructions in the device’s box to initialize it. This typically involves setting up a PIN code and writing down your 24-word recovery phrase. Keep this phrase secure as it’s crucial for recovering your funds if your device is lost or damaged.
Once your Ledger device is set up, connect it to your computer using the provided USB cable. Open Ledger® Live, and it will prompt you to add a new device. Follow the instructions to add your Ledger device to the application. This process will include verifying your device and entering your PIN code.
After your device is connected and recognized, you need to install the appropriate cryptocurrency apps on your Ledger device. In Ledger® Live, navigate to the Manager tab. Here, you can install apps for various cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many others. Select and install the apps you need, ensuring your device is prepared to manage your desired assets.
